Serena Piper Blogger Biography

When I was in college, it seemed like too many mornings I woke up and was not pumped up for class. Even if my first class of the day wasn’t until noon, it took some serious motivation some days to get my very unmotivated body out of my too-cozy bed. I finally figured out a great way to pump myself up for the day was by creating a “happy” playlist of songs with good beats and inspirational or funny lyrics.

If you dread getting ready to start your day, let me show you my playlist of feel good songs. Couple them with the windows rolled down on your drive to campus, or a warm coffee on your walk, and you’ve just set the day up to be a good one!

1. “Good Day” – Greg Street featuring Nappy Roots

With a bouncy beat and a catchy chorus, you’ll be tapping your toes and wanting to organize a campus flash mob.

2. “Best Day Of My Life” – American Authors

Even if you’re convinced it’ll be the worst day, this song will change your thinking around!

3. “On Top Of The World” – Imagine Dragons

Similar to “Best Day of My Life,” inspirational lyrics will remind you that you are unbeatable.

4. “I Got You (I Feel Good)” – James Brown

Listening to these lyrics will make you feel good. It’s all about positive thinking!

5. “Don’t Worry About A Thing (Three Little Birds)” – Bob Marley

I dare you to try not to sing along to this classic.

6. “New Shoes” – Paolo Nutini
One of my personal favorites, I have played this song to the point where it’s in my Top 25 list on iTunes. Who knew a song about shoes could do that?

7. “Roar” – Katy Perry

This song has been everywhere, obviously because it’s such an upbeat song. Play this to remind you of the “fighter” you are.

8. “Say Hey (I Love You)” – Michael Franti & Spearhead

Again, another great beat that will make you want to have a car dance party or dance along the sidewalk.

9. “Smile” – Vitamin C
One of those songs everyone denies liking even though it’s super good! Bring yourself back to the age of those middle school dances! Vitamin C is good for you after all.

10. “It’s a Beautiful Day” – Michael Bublé

“It’s a beautiful day and I can’t stop myself from smiling.” Words you want to hear first thing in the morning!
