Did you know that 1 in 6 American men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime?
Here at BookRenter, we feel strongly about supporting important causes. From donating a book to First Book for every online order to wearing pink bracelets in support of breast cancer awareness last month, BookRenter cares. This month, we’ve set our sights on Movember.
Movember is an organization that raises awareness and funds for men’s health issues, specifically cancers affecting men. Movember directly partners with the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG. Throughout the month of November, many of the men of BookRenter (known affectionately as “Mo Bros”) will be growing a moustache and raising funds with pledges of support. Keeping a stiff upper lip as well are the “Mo Sistas,” women will be sporting fake moustaches to join in the fun for the cause.
Paolo Resmini, a senior software engineer at BookRenter, is leading this effort. He says, “It’s good to follow up breast cancer awareness month with initiatives focused on men’s health.” Prostate cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers in men and BookRenter wants to help bring awareness. “Plus,” Resmini added, “Any excuse to grow a moustache is a good thing too!”
