Use this summer to have an adventure. Did you know that adventure is in your own backyard? You don’t have to travel to explore beauty and wonder. Journey locally.
1. Farmers’ Market
One of the best options to begin with is visiting your local farmers’ market. Ever tried dessert gooners? I hadn’t either, up until I visited a booth at the farmers’ market. There’s more to crab rangoons than just crab meat. We tried a rangoon with banana and Nutella filling. Implement this into your life this summer. Actively seek out a farmers’ market. You won’t regret it.
2. Local Art
Supporting local artists broadens your perspective. A lot of college students or travelling artists spend their weekends showcasing their passions, whether it’s in music, design, photography, or simply handmade crafts. You never know what you’ll find. Recently, my friends and I came across this band called the Brazilian 2wins and fell right in love. They did covers of Top 40 hits and engaged with everyone who was watching them.
3. Local Business
Bring your smartphone or camera along and get some good shots in. One of the cool things about this is that you can Instagram different musicians, artistic layouts, wonderful fresh flowers and produce, and ultimately create a summer photo album about your adventures.
Go out there and make the most out of your summer by keeping it local!
