Last minute Christmas shopping can be stressful, but to save time and money, maybe consider a few homemade DIY gifts that will really make a meaningful holiday gift.
Homemade candles not only smell delicious, they are also a creative addition to any room in your house. You can find candle making kits at almost any craft shop, or you can use this recipe. You can even buy some scented oils to add to your candles. Cinnamon, pine, or even peppermint are the perfect holiday scents!
A personalized touch to the tree is never a bad thing. You can make popsicle reindeer, spoon Santas and Mrs. Clauses, or my favorite, “Swirl-a-balls.” You can find all the supplies to make these inexpensive ornaments at a craft store. Homemade ornaments might be small gifts, but who doesn’t love something homemade?
Again, all the supplies you need to make a bracelet, necklace, or even a regular keychain can be found at a craft store. Find out your friend’s or a family member’s favorite color and you can find the corresponding beads to match! I like picking out funky beads with random shapes, animal faces, or even letters for initials. You can also buy beads to spell out a special phrase or inside joke. You also don’t have to buy regular old fishing line for jewelry – use cord, rope, or hemp!
4. Photo Collage
Photo collages are a great way to show someone how much you appreciate them. Pick out your favorite photos together and you can either place them in a fancy frame with pre-cut shapes, or simply pick out the frame and add your own personal touches using scrapbook paper, pieces of dried flowers, or even twigs from the woods. Anything you add is sure to personalize it!
Mmmm, something delicious to nibble on around the fire or at parties? How could a person say no? Do a bit of digging to find out their favorite guilty pleasure and surprise them with it! If you can’t figure out what to make, fudge and peppermint bark never disappoint!
