Mornings can be tough, but they don’t have to be! Check out my five “morning musts” for a better start to your day!
Stretching first thing after waking up has many benefits. Along with relaxing your body and muscles, stretching in the morning also relaxes your mind and improves your circulation. This allows you to begin your day in a calm and relaxed state.
2. Eat Breakfast
It’s called the most important meal of the day for a reason. Even if you are one of those people who don’t like to eat in the morning, try it! It’s important to start the day off well-nourished. If you do not have time to sit down and eat in the morning, grab something for on-the-go like a piece of fruit, granola bar, or juice.
3. Drink Warm Lemon Water
We’ve all heard that lemon water is beneficial for our bodies, but have you heard the many benefits of drinking warm lemon water on an empty stomach? It does wonders for your digestive system and flushes out toxins!
Sometimes you may feel overwhelmed at the beginning of the day if you feel like you have too much to do with too little time. The trick is to make a list, whether it be on paper or in your head, that roughly schedules out when you will complete each task that day. This way you can feel more organized and can calm down knowing you have a basic idea of how your day will go.
5. Slather on the SPF
Protect your skin! Always remember to apply sunscreen. Wear broad spectrum sunscreen to protect your skin from UVA/UVB rays all year round, especially in the warmer seasons as more of your skin is exposed. For those who wear makeup, you can skip the process of applying sunscreen by using makeup that already has SPF in it.
