Although summer conjures up images of sunny days at the beach, not all summer days are created equal. For the days when the weather is more suited for staying indoors, the movie theater is always a good option. Consider seeing these summer blockbusters to brighten your rainy days.

1. Edge of Tomorrow

Tom Cruise plays Major William Cage, an officer who had never seen combat until the day he was dropped into a suicide mission against a powerful alien enemy. Cage is killed in battle but is inexplicably caught in a Groundhog Day-esque time loop where every time he dies he wakes up before the battle and relives it. And every time he runs through the battle his skills and knowledge in combat increase. He works with a Special Forces agent, Rita Vrataski, played by Emily Blunt, as they keep progressing through the battle trying to unlock the secret to victory.

2. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

This is the sequel to the surprisingly good remake of the 1968 classic. It takes place eight years after Rise of the Planet of the Apes when humanity has been devastated by a widespread virus. The survivors are left to contend with the Apes that have been genetically altered to have the capacity for human thought and even speech – making for a formidable species about as close to super human as it gets. Starring Andy Serkis and Gary Oldman, this should make for another epic installment in the series.

3. Neighbors

This is a comedy many college students and full time residents of college towns can finally come together and enjoy. Kelly and Mac, Rose Byrne, and Seth Rogan, move into a seemingly quiet neighborhood with their newborn child when a fraternity moves in next door. After a series of noise complaints and mutual pranking, things start to get out of hand as the police and the college are forced into the conflict. Zac Efron also stars in this comedy as the fraternity president. This is definitely a must see as it is already being called one of the funniest college movies of all time putting it in the ranks with classics such as Animal House, Revenge of the Nerds, and Old School.
