You finally made it through finals (congrats!) and college is out for the summer. Now it’s time to make sure that summer body is on point! Here are a few tips and tricks to help you maintain your shape this summer.
Make a summer playlist with all of your favorite upbeat summer jams. Play it when you workout at the gym, go for a run, or even when you’re getting dressed. It will force you to dance around and burn a couple of calories while you get ready for those fun summer time activities. Can’t think of just the right playlist? 2. Just Do It
Our best excuses seem to derive from two areas: working and studying. However, once you start, you always feel so much better! So, just do it. Make the best of what you’ve got. On vacation and the resort or hotel doesn’t have an up to par gym? Don’t let that stop you from your daily exercise regime. Crank out 20 or so jumping jacks, give yourself 10 squats, and as many push ups and sit ups as you can handle. It may not be your typical workout routine, but at least you won’t put yourself days behind while you’re soaking up the sun.
With smoldering temperatures, it’s most important that you’re hydrating your body with water. Here’s a secret – drinking water makes you feel full, so you’ll tend to eat less after you drink that ice cold glass, and not to mention how refreshed you’ll feel. You can even make your water a little tastier by adding slices of fresh lemons, limes, oranges, or any citrus fruit. Water is really just a delicious win-win situation.
It’s so easy to over indulge in summer months. The days are long and the conversations are even better, so how could you say no to that extra soda or get a little bit food crazy on vacation? But, honestly, you can do it. Just remember that you want that same hot pre-vacation body when you come back from the beach too.
Don’t over-work yourself, but remember to set your goals and go for it! You can do it!
